DebE Wheels

No, I am not a Trekkie... But I am a big fan of Trekkie's! I used to work for Cinemark Theater's in Layton all through High school. Those were the best years!
We loved it when the Star Trek films opened in the big screen because along with it came the Trekkie's. They were very interesting! They used to salute to us and speak Klingon... They assumed we were Trekkie's because we wore the uniform but we were just promoting the movie! They took their role very serious.
One man yelled at me because he felt I didn't honor the uniform. He asked me how I earned the rankings I wore on my collar! I told him it was just a costume! (Big mistake) He snapped at me with such ferocity! He then went on to explain that he was a co-captain of an enterprise... His member's met weekly to have meeting's and arrange activities. they had blue prints of their ship! He told me all about the recipes they would prepare from different planets! He was dead serious about this stuff and I had clearly offended him!
One of my friends witnessed a couple who had just been married in the SLC temple! They were dressed in White star Trek uniforms with the star trek badge! He overheard them talk about how they would have Klingon's and Vulcanians in there wedding line! They held their hands up proudly in the Vulcan greeting for their wedding photo's. I am dead serious! This stuff really exists! It is fascinating to me!
I highly recommend a movie for anyone who got a kick out of this blog! The movie is called "Trekkie's" You will laugh your head off! And if you are a Trekkie, I Salute you!

DebE, You look so overjoyed to be in your star trek costume -- ooops, I mean uniform. It is scary to think that there are people who are SERIOUS about this stuff. People need to be more "normal" like you and me. hahaha

I'm a totally treky fan! Totally love Patric Stewart! You totally look like you belong aboard the enterprise!
