Here we are in all our glory. Joe is really going to kill me when he sees the picture I posted of him. Yes he has always been a huge basketball fan. Whenever he had a spare moment, he was outside shooting hoops. He made the team his freshman, sophomore and junior year. His senior year he tried out and made it to final cuts and it was between him and the coaches son...guess who was chosen, that's right, the coaches son. Now before you mock the uniform remember this probably was taken in '87 or '88. He DID graduate in 1989, you gotta love the 80's. At 5'7" he could even dunk the basketball on a 10' hoop, don't ask him to do that now, I don't think he'd be able to do it. B B B O B, C C C A T, B O B, C A T, BOBCATS. Yes I know this is such a shocker to all of you (not really, right?) but I was a cheerleader in high school, go BOBCATS. I tried out the end of my sophomore year and made it. It was always my dream to be a cheerleader and the lead in the musicals. I made one dream come true. The other, I was just a dancer in the musicals, the Wizard of Oz and Guys and Dolls. I really loved being a cheerleader and having an excuse to spaz out at games and not have people look at me funny. This picture was taken my Senior year, during basketball season. We had a great year our senior year, that was the year the "hazing" incident took place. Our football was headed for state but couldn't go-it was such a bummer but during the winter sports season we took region in all 5 sports-it was awesome, boys basketball also took state. Soccer also took State in the spring. My senior year was definitely a memorable one, and we grew really close as a class because of all we went through.
The other thing I was really big into was choir (Yes, I know this is another shocker to all of you). This is a picture of me and my performing choir "Front Porch Majority". It was so fun to be a part of. All though school I was in choir, and the big thing was to be in Front Porch your senior year. At the end of the year we went down to California and sang at Disneyland, and Knotts Berry Farms. It was such an awesome way to end my senior year. I was also on the softball team my freshman and sophomore years, but didn't really love that. I really have no clue how I made it and I really don't know why I tried out. When I was a Beehive, we were having a practice for softball and I was playing 2nd baseman on a grass field. A grounder was hit and coming right for me. I went down to get it and right before I scooped it up, the ball hit a rut and hit me smack in the nose. That kind of turned me off of softball for a while and I really wasn't very good, but decided to tryout for the high school team just for fun. I really think the reason I made it was because I was a fast runner and was the designated runner for our catcher.I really had a great high school experience and wouldn't trade it for anything. I loved being
so involved in all that I was, and had great friends. Just remember '94 rules.

The pic of Joe cracks me up, and yes, he will kill you! He looks so young! You still look like you, and still look beautiful! I have to laugh that our husbands are out of town together, and we are the blogging!

Joe is like a little John Stockton! Tyson also likes to read these blogs, he'll get a kick out of these high school ones.
Denise, you have hardly changed! It looks like you did have a blast in high school! -Diane
Diane,
I am just waiting for yours and Tyson's next.
Great pictures! I love to see what everyone looked like back then. If I could get my scanner to work I would post some old pictures too. I have a great one of Robby dressed up as Princess Leia from Star Wars.
No way! 95' all the way baby! lol... I definately think Joe should start wearing that old basketball uniform when he goes out to play hoops in your back yard!!! That rules! It doesn't even look like him! You are so cute Denise! you are still a cheerleader at heart! Always! I love seeing those pics!
