Lake Lyman 2009

July has come and gone, but the month made sure it went out with a bang. We've had a lot of fun in Young Women's this summer, and many of our activities have been in preparation for this one week where the girls, leaders, and a few select individuals head to the Uintahs for girls camp. This year's theme was Survivor Treasure Island. Each ward chose a tribe name (ours was Fia Fia, which means "happy" in Samoan) and color for camp. While we didn't "win" the survivor "competition," we all came away with a greater understanding of the gospel, sense of purpose, and understanding of what it means to be a treasured daughter of God.

We each also came away with a lot of great memories. Like the time that President Thompson ate ????? for the love of his ward. Or there was that morning when ?????, ?????, ?????, and ????? did ????? on the dock before flag ceremony. Or there was that time Bishop Thomson let the girls ????? during tribe time.

I could go on and on about all the great things that happened at camp, but really, you should go ask the girls. And chances are they'll smile and shrug their shoulders at your inquiries without really revealing anything. Why? Because as the saying goes: "What happens at Lake Lyman, stays at Lake Lyman!"
